Vietnam Reclaims Second Place in SEA Games 33 Medal Standings

The SEA Games 33, held from December 9 to December 20, features significant participation and competitive spirit among Southeast Asian nations. Approximately 9,366 athletes are competing in 50 sports across three main venues: Chonburi, Bangkok, and Songkhla.

Vietnam Reclaims Second Place in SEA Games 33 Medal Standings

As of December 14, the latest medal standings reveal a dynamic shift in ranks. Thailand continues to dominate, leading with an impressive total of 203 medals, which includes 102 gold, 63 silver, and 38 bronze medals.

Current Standings

  • Thailand: 102 gold, 63 silver, 38 bronze (Total: 203)
  • Indonesia: 33 gold, 49 silver, 41 bronze
  • Vietnam: 33 gold, 30 silver, 57 bronze
  • Singapore: 19 gold, 19 silver, 25 bronze
  • Malaysia, Philippines, Myanmar, Laos: Following in subsequent positions

Vietnam has faced some challenges, falling to third place after Indonesia secured an additional gold medal. Both Vietnam and Indonesia have the same number of golds, but Indonesia’s higher silver count places them above Vietnam in the standings.

Medal Distribution

SEA Games 33 will award a total of 574 medals, which is 10 medals fewer than the previous edition. The increased competition among participating nations highlights the growing sportsmanship in the region.
