Oscar Legend Confident About Final Destination at 78

Glenn Close, the acclaimed 78-year-old actress, has revealed her unique plans for her final days. During an appearance on Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ podcast “Wiser Than Me,” Close shared that she is constructing a cottage inspired by her childhood memories.

Final Destination: A Cherished Cottage

Close’s vision is clear; she intends to spend her last moments in a replica of her grandparents’ cozy stone cottage. This cottage, located on their farm, brings back fond memories for the actress.

“I have decided that I am going to end my days in that cottage,” she stated. The original house, made of stone, featured ivy and a white picket fence nestled in fields and woods, creating a serene setting. She expressed that her happiest moments were spent there, making this project deeply personal.

Future Plans and Living Arrangement

  • Close is including two bedrooms in her new cottage: one for herself and one for her caretaker.

At this stage in her life, Close remains single after three marriages, the last of which ended in 2015. She disclosed on the podcast that she has no interest in dating, having remained contentedly unattached for the past ten years.

Current Endeavors and Professional Life

Despite personal reflections, Close continues to thrive professionally. This year, she starred in Hulu’s “All’s Fair,” which has already been renewed for a second season. Additionally, she is featured in the upcoming film “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.”

Her career also includes a role in the latest installment of the “Knives Out” franchise, “Wake Up Dead Man.” Close’s diverse projects highlight her ongoing dedication to her craft.

A Roots in Montana

In 2019, Close settled in Bozeman, Montana, to be nearer to her family. She describes her estate as “the greatest gift of my life.” Her property extends into the national forest, providing a landscape rich in wildlife, including mountain lions, elk, and bears.

According to Close, this estate was on the market for seven years before she purchased it, emphasizing her commitment to creating a legacy for her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.

As she plans for her future, Close is blending her professional life with a deep connection to her past, ensuring that her final destination will be as meaningful as her journey.
