Big White in Kelowna Named Top Family-Friendly International Ski Resort

Big White Ski Resort has been recognized as the Best International Ski Resort for Families in the 2025 Out and About with Kids Readers’ Choice Awards. This accolade marks Big White’s return to the top, having previously won in 2024. Over 40,000 Australian families participated in the voting process, highlighting the resort’s popularity among family vacationers.
Family-Friendly Initiatives at Big White
In a bid to enhance its family-friendly offerings, Big White is set to open the second phase of its Kids’ Centre expansion. This area, located in the Village Centre Mall, is aimed at accommodating the needs of young visitors. The upcoming features include:
- A new Tot Town Daycare
- A designated space for children aged four to five
Trevor Hanna, vice president of hospitality, expressed excitement about the project. “With its new vehicle-accessible drop-off and Tot Town opening soon, families are sure to enjoy our winter wonderland,” he stated. This expansion follows the successful relocation of programming for children aged six to twelve in 2024, which has improved guest flow and overall facility usage.
January Ski & Snowboard Week
To further cater to families, Big White has launched its inaugural January Ski & Snowboard Week. This initiative is designed for international guests visiting during the Australian and New Zealand school holidays. The program includes:
- Three days of two-hour lessons both morning and afternoon
- Group assignments based on ability level
