15 to 20 cm of Snow Expected Between Wednesday and Thursday

Environment Canada has issued a snow warning for southern Quebec. Between Wednesday and Thursday, 15 to 20 cm of snow is expected in various regions. This weather event is likely to impact commuting and traveling conditions.

Snow Forecast for Southern Quebec

The most significant snowfall is anticipated in the Greater Montreal area, the Outaouais Valley, and the Laurentians. Specific snowfall predictions include:

  • Grand Montreal: 15 to 20 cm
  • Outaouais Valley: 15 to 20 cm
  • Laurentians: 15 to 20 cm
  • Estrie: 10 to 15 cm
  • Trois-Rivières: 10 to 15 cm
  • Quebec City: 10 cm

Timing of the Snowfall

Initially, 1 to 2 cm of snow will fall overnight on Wednesday. From 9 a.m. Wednesday through Thursday, additional snowfall of 2 to 3 cm is expected every three hours.

Weather Conditions

According to meteorologist Peter Kimbell, the snowfall will be steady, although not intense. Light snow is forecasted to continue on Thursday, accompanied by winds that may contribute to blowing snow.

Due to these conditions, road travel may become challenging on both Wednesday and Thursday. Motorists should exercise caution and prepare for potentially difficult driving circumstances.
