Netflix Star Rapper Ghetts Admits Guilt in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Rapper and Netflix star Ghetts, whose real name is Justin Clarke-Samuel, has pled guilty to charges related to a fatal hit-and-run incident in Ilford, North East London. The tragic event occurred on October 18, when he struck 20-year-old Yubin Tamang with his BMW, failing to stop after the collision.

Details of the Incident

On that fateful night, around 9:30 PM, Ghetts admitted to consuming alcohol while driving dangerously. As a result of the impact, Tamang was thrown approximately 60 to 70 feet into the air before landing. Alarmingly, Ghetts did not halt his vehicle and continued driving east along Redbridge Lane.

Legal Consequences

In court, Ghetts faced multiple charges, including:

  • Causing death by dangerous driving
  • Two additional counts of dangerous driving before and after the crash

He did not enter pleas for charges related to causing death by careless driving while under the influence nor for an extra count of dangerous driving. Judge Mark Lucraft, KC, indicated that Ghetts is likely facing a prison sentence. He has been remanded in custody, with sentencing scheduled for February 12.
