The tragic event occurred on October 18, when he struck 20-year-old Yubin Tamang with his BMW, failing to stop after the collision.

On that fateful night, around 9:30 PM, Ghetts admitted to consuming alcohol while driving dangerously. As a result of the impact, Tamang was thrown approximately 60 to 70 feet into the air before landing. Alarmingly, Ghetts did not halt his vehicle and continued driving east along Redbridge Lane.
