Liam Lawson Turns to Isack Hadjar’s Set-Up
Lawson finished 18th in the second practice session, while his teammate Isack Hadjar secured 7th place, nearly eight-tenths faster. Following this, Lawson confirmed he will adopt Hadjar’s setup in hopes of improving his own pace.
Assessing the Weekend
Reflecting on his initial outing of the Formula 1 season finale, the 23-year-old faced difficulties due to the missed practice session. “It’s a little bit tricky,” he explained. “There’s naturally a little bit of catch-up to do, but probably more than we were expecting.”
- Lawson’s current position: P18 in second practice
- Hadjar’s position: P7, 0.8 seconds faster
- Key strategy: Adopting Hadjar’s setup for better performance
Expectation levels are high for the Racing Bulls team, as both Stake and Haas showed strong performance on the opening day. The drivers need to secure solid results to maintain their sixth place in the constructors’ championship standings.
Looking Ahead
Lawson acknowledged the importance of enhancing his car’s performance for the critical qualifying session. He noted that despite the challenges, the team has potential and aims to fine-tune his vehicle based on Hadjar’s impressive setup.
“Overall, as a team, it’s quite quick. We just need to tune up my car a little bit,” Lawson remarked, showing optimism for the upcoming sessions.
