Valencia Marathon Targets Year’s Fastest World-Leading Times

The 2025 Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich is set to take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025. This prestigious event aims to secure the fastest marathon times globally for both men and women. Organizers and athletes highlighted these goals during a presentation at La Placeta INNSiDE by Meliá Valencia Oceanic at Expo 42K Feria Valencia.

Fastest World-Leading Times Targeted

Juan Botella, CEO of SD Correcaminos, expressed enthusiasm, saying, “This Sunday, we are aiming for the best marathon times in the world in 2025.” He noted the importance of monitoring wind and weather conditions for optimal performance.

Elite Field of Athletes

The international coach, Marc Roig, emphasized Valencia’s reputation as a fast marathon location. “We hope the 36,000 participants achieve their personal bests,” he said.

Among the elite male contenders is Sisay Lemma, the current course record holder with a time of 2:01:48. He aims to surpass his previous performance from 2023, where he narrowly missed the world record after a strong start. Lemma stated, “I am in good shape and will try to break the world record in the future.”

Women’s Elite Competitors

The women’s lineup features notable athletes, including Amane Beriso, the current Valencia Marathon record holder at 2:14:58. She expressed excitement about returning to the event, stating, “I’m very happy to be in Valencia again. I’m ready for Sunday.”

Kenyan runner Peres Jepchirchir, who won gold at the recent World Championships and holds a time of 2:16:16, also aims for a top performance. “I am in good shape and will try to give my best,” she commented.
