Packers Secure DL Quinton Bohanna from Seahawks via Waivers

The Green Bay Packers have bolstered their defensive line by claiming Quinton Bohanna off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks. This transaction was confirmed on Friday through the league’s transaction wire.
Quinton Bohanna’s Background and Performance
Quinton Bohanna, a towering defensive tackle at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 355 pounds, was originally drafted in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He played for the Seahawks this season, appearing in five games and logging 32 defensive snaps.
During his brief tenure in Seattle, Bohanna recorded one hurry, two total tackles, and one run stop, primarily functioning as a nose tackle. He was let go by the Seahawks on December 4.
Impact of Bohanna’s Addition
The Packers had an open roster spot available after placing defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt on injured reserve earlier on Friday, which allowed them to proceed with the claim for Bohanna. The expectation was that the roster spot would be filled by either Jayden Reed or Brenton Cox Jr. However, the team opted to prioritize adding Bohanna.
Before officially joining the 53-man roster, Bohanna must pass a physical examination with the Packers. If cleared, he will integrate into a defensive line unit featuring young talents such as Karl Brooks and Colby Wooden.
Defensive Line Dynamics
- Quinton Bohanna – Newly claimed from Seahawks
- Karl Brooks – Expected starter
- Colby Wooden – Expected starter
- Jordon Riley – Recently acquired from New York Giants
- Nazir Stackhouse – Undrafted free agent on the roster
With the loss of Wyatt to a season-ending ankle injury, the Packers’ defensive line has seen reshuffling. Bohanna, along with Riley and Stackhouse, forms a solid rotation in the nose tackle position as they approach the final five games of the 2025 season.
The Packers appear to have a strategic plan for their defensive line as they prepare for upcoming challenges. Rookie Warren Brinson is likely to assume the primary backup role behind Brooks now that Wyatt is sidelined. The team aims to capitalize on their depth in the defensive tackle positions, ensuring they remain competitive through the remainder of the season.
