AT&T Customers: Claim Up to $7,500 in Settlement Eligibility

AT&T customers may be eligible for substantial payouts due to two significant data breaches. A recent court ruling requires AT&T to pay $177 million in a settlement for the unauthorized exposure of personal information. Those affected could claim up to $7,500, depending on the documented losses.
Details of the AT&T Data Breaches
The data breaches in question occurred in 2019 and 2024. The 2019 incident, which involved sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, birth dates, and legal names, impacted 7.6 million current customers and 65.4 million former account holders. This breach was revealed in March 2024, although the data had been circulating on the dark web prior to the announcement.
The second incident happened in April 2024 and was disclosed in July 2024. It compromised phone records from nearly all 109 million US customers stored in Snowflake, AT&T’s cloud-based data warehouse.
Settlement Amounts and Claims Process
In March 2025, an agreement was reached for a settlement that provides specific payouts based on the breach involved:
- AT&T 1 Data Incident (2019 breach): $149 million in total payouts.
- AT&T 2 Data Incident (2024 breach): $28 million in total payouts.
Individuals impacted may file for compensation until December 18, 2025. To do so, they must obtain their “Class Member ID” from notifications sent by the settlement administrator, Kroll. For those who haven’t received this notification, calling 833-890-4930 or writing to the Kroll Settlement Administration can provide assistance.
Submitting Your Claim
Eligible individuals can submit their claims online or via mail. They need to provide documented proof of losses resulting from either or both breaches. Claim forms for each breach, as well as a joint claim form for those affected by both incidents, are available through the settlement administration.
When filing a claim, consider the following points:
- Claims must be postmarked by December 18, 2025.
- Documented losses can increase payouts significantly. For the 2019 breach, up to $5,000 may be available.
- The 2024 breach offers up to $2,500 for those with documented losses.
In cases without proof of loss, recipients may receive a pro rata share based on the total claims submitted. Therefore, those affected by both breaches can file separate claims, possibly accessing up to $7,500 if eligible.
Final Thoughts
AT&T customers who suspect they were impacted by these data breaches are encouraged to verify their eligibility and file claims promptly. Ensuring that claims are submitted before the deadline will be crucial in securing potential compensation.
