Seattle Seahawks Expected to Sign Veteran Safety Diggs to Practice Squad

Seattle Seahawks are on the brink of signing veteran safety Quandre Diggs to their practice squad. This move comes as the team faces injuries among its defensive backs. Starter Julian Love is dealing with a hamstring issue, while Ty Okada is managing an oblique injury.
Quandre Diggs’ NFL Journey
Quandre Diggs, 32, is a seasoned player with an impressive history. He had a significant tenure with the Seahawks, playing for four and a half seasons before his release in 2024. During his time in Seattle, he recorded 18 interceptions across 72 games and earned three Pro Bowl selections.
Diggs joined the Seahawks in 2019 following a trade from the Detroit Lions. After being released last year, he signed with the Tennessee Titans. He played eight games as a starter in 2024 and four games this season before he was waived earlier this month.
Current Safety Situation for the Seahawks
- Julian Love: Injury status unclear, eligible to come off injured reserve.
- Ty Okada: Missed the second half of the recent game against the Titans due to injury.
Coach Mike Macdonald has indicated that it is uncertain whether Love will return this week. However, there is optimism surrounding Okada’s recovery. This situation necessitates the addition of Diggs to bolster the team’s safety depth.
The potential signing of Quandre Diggs reflects the Seahawks’ proactive approach to managing their roster during a critical stretch of the season.
