Jessica Beckenstein has taken on a pivotal role as the new Assistant Head Coach and Operations Manager for the Panthers. Her unique journey in football began while she was a student at the University of Alabama. Initially aspiring to work in beauty and fashion marketing, an opportunity changed her career trajectory.
Path to Football
Beckenstein’s introduction to the sport came through an internship with the Alabama football team. Encouraged by her brother, who had previously been involved in the program, she became a recruiting operations student assistant. Her responsibilities included game-day logistics and maintaining crucial data.
Working two days a week, Beckenstein quickly discovered her passion for football. After a year, she advanced to lead this role under Ashleigh Kimble. The following year, she transitioned to Nick Saban’s office. This experience during Alabama’s dynasty years greatly influenced her approach to coaching and operations.
Lessons from Nick Saban
Beckenstein attributes much of her development to her time with Saban. She emphasized learning the essence of excellence and the standards required to achieve greatness. This foundation has profoundly shaped her contributions to the Panthers.
Current Responsibilities
As the Assistant Head Coach and Operations Manager, Beckenstein’s days are never the same. She primarily assists Head Coach Dave Canales and the entire coaching staff with daily activities. Her duties encompass a broad range of operations, from managing schedules to organizing practice filming and meetings.
