Ohio State University is currently showcasing exceptional talent in its football program, particularly with freshman quarterback Tavien St. Clair. He is making waves during practice and has caught the eye of head coach Ryan Day.

Freshman Quarterback’s Performance

On November 20, Ryan Day lauded St. Clair for his impressive development. He stated, “I think he’s had his best week of practice the last week. He has the potential, and he’s gaining on it every day.” This positive feedback highlights the 6-foot-4, 230-pound quarterback’s ability to throw well and adapt to the collegiate level.

St. Clair’s High School Success

St. Clair, a Class of 2025 recruit from Bellefontaine, boasts impressive high school statistics. In his senior year, he helped his team achieve a 9-3 record and a state playoff appearance, passing for 2,536 yards and 29 touchdowns. Additionally, he contributed with 254 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.

  • Senior Year Stats: 2,536 passing yards, 29 passing touchdowns, 254 rushing yards, 9 rushing touchdowns.

Development and Future Potential

Coach Day compared St. Clair’s progress to that of linebacker Arvell Reese, who excelled after spending a year learning from the sidelines.

Upcoming Challenges

As Ohio State prepares for its upcoming game against Rutgers on November 22, St. Clair remains optimistic. He expressed how surreal it is to be a part of the program he has always admired. The Buckeyes aim to secure a Big Ten title and potentially contest for a national championship.
