Justice Department Probes Handling of Senator Adam Schiff Investigation

The Justice Department is currently reviewing the federal investigation involving Democratic Senator Adam Schiff of California. This probe follows allegations of mortgage fraud linked to Schiff’s documentation made by California Republican congressional candidate Christine Bish.
Allegations and Investigation Details
Bish submitted her tip to the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). This agency’s head, Bill Pulte, appointed by President Trump, referred the matter to the Justice Department in May. Bish claimed that federal investigators questioned her regarding Schiff’s connections rather than focusing solely on Schiff himself.
Investigative Focus
- Bish was asked about other individuals involved in the investigation, including Ed Martin, the Justice Department’s pardon attorney.
- She confirmed that she had no communication with either Pulte or Martin.
- Bish reported being at the Greenbelt, Maryland, federal courthouse for interviews but was not under oath.
Related Accusations Against Other Officials
In addition to Schiff, Pulte has referred California Democratic Representative Eric Swalwell for investigation involving similar allegations of tax and mortgage fraud. Accusations have also been directed at several other officials, including New York Attorney General Letitia James and Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook.
Subpoena and Documentation Requests
The interrogation process has led to a subpoena directed at Bish, requiring her to present documentation and communications regarding Schiff. The subpoena specifically requests information about individuals claiming to have affiliations with Pulte or the Justice Department.
While the Justice Department has not publicly commented on the ongoing review, sources indicated that multiple lines of inquiry are being pursued regarding how Pulte and Martin are managing the investigation into Senator Schiff.
