Macy’s Unveils 7 New Floats for 2025 Thanksgiving Parade

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City is gearing up for its 99th annual event. This year, it will showcase seven new floats, including an exciting debut of the LABUBU float. The new additions highlight the parade’s continued evolution and embrace of new characters and themes.

  • The Littlest Float from Goldfish
  • FIRST TIME: LABUBU Float by POP MART

Highlights from the New Floats

One standout is the Friendsgiving in POP CITY float featuring Labubu and MOKOKO. Both characters are designed as 16-foot tall fuzzy inflatables, marking a significant achievement for POP MART as they celebrate their 15th anniversary. The director of creative production at Macy’s Studios, Brendan Kennedy, emphasized the significance of introducing such beloved characters at this historic event.

Event Details

The parade’s balloon inflation celebration kicks off on Wednesday, November 26, along Central Park West. Following this, the iconic parade will march through Manhattan on Thursday morning along Sixth Avenue. This year’s event continues a long-standing tradition, with fan-favorite floats returning alongside the new surprises.

Preparing for the Parade

As preparations unfold at the Macy’s parade studio in Moonachie, New Jersey, carpenters, engineers, and animators are meticulously constructing the floats. Kennedy shared an insight into the atmosphere, stating that the studio resembles Santa’s workshop during this festive season. The anticipation builds not only for this year but also for the upcoming milestone of the 100th parade.
