Carter Hart’s Comeback After Hiatus
The match against the Calgary Wranglers was not just a singular event but rather the beginning of Hart’s journey back. This AHL game is seen as a preparatory step toward his potential return to the NHL.
Key Details of the Return
- Player: Carter Hart
- Team: Henderson Silver Knights
- Opponent: Calgary Wranglers
- Duration of Hiatus: 22 months
- Contract: Two-year, $4 million deal with the Vegas Golden Knights, signed in October

Challenges for the Golden Knights
The Golden Knights have faced ongoing difficulties in the goaltending department this season. Starter Adin Hill, who recently signed a six-year, $37.5 million extension, suffered an injury in October. Coach Bruce Cassidy indicated that Hill is considered week-to-week and did not join the team on their recent road trip.
Current Goaltending Situation
- Adin Hill: Injured, not traveling with the team
- Akira Schmid: Record of 6-1-2, save percentage of .894
- Carl Lindbom: Record of 0-4, save percentage of .869
As of now, the Golden Knights rank 25th in the NHL with a team save percentage of .882. Despite his lengthy hiatus, Hart maintains a solid past performance with a .906 save percentage and a 2.94 goals-against average from his six seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers.
As part of his return, Hart is currently on a conditioning loan with the Henderson Silver Knights and looks forward to regaining his form to make a full comeback to the NHL.
