Japan Police Renew Search for 2011 Tsunami Victims in Northeast

On March 11, 2011, northeastern Japan experienced one of the most devastating natural disasters in its history. Currently, there are still 1,213 individuals unaccounted for in the Miyagi region alone.

On a recent Monday, over ten personnel, including police officers affiliated with the Ishinomaki Police Station, conducted a thorough search on Ajishima Island and adjacent waters. They began their efforts with a moment of silence, paying tribute to the victims.

Chiba Tomohiro, an official with the Ishinomaki Police Station, emphasized the changes that have occurred in the region over the past 15 years.
