Intel Welcomes Dr. Craig H. Barratt to Board of Directors

Intel Corporation has announced the appointment of Dr. Craig H. Barratt to its board of directors, effective immediately. He joins as an independent director.

Dr. Barratt, 63, comes with over three decades of experience in the semiconductor and technology industries. Intel’s CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, commended Dr. Barratt as a technology leader with a track record of innovation and business transformation.
Previous Leadership Roles
Before joining Intel, Dr. Barratt served as the CEO of Atheros Communications, a leader in wireless semiconductor technology. Under his guidance, Atheros successfully launched an IPO, culminating in its acquisition by Qualcomm for $3.1 billion.
Dr. Barratt has also held senior leadership positions at Google, overseeing initiatives such as Google Fiber. At Intel, he previously served as Senior Vice President for ethernet, photonics, and networking businesses after the acquisition of Barefoot Networks.
Current Affiliations
In addition to his role at Intel, Dr. Barratt acts as the lead independent director at Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISRG) and serves on the board of Astera Labs, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALAB), along with several private companies.
Educational Background
Dr. Barratt holds bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and pure mathematics and physics from the University of Sydney. He also earned master’s and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
