MacKinnon Tops NHL’s 3 Stars of the Week

Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon has been named the NHL’s First Star of the Week, along with Connor Bedard from the Chicago Blackhawks and Leo Carlsson of the Anaheim Ducks. This recognition is for the week ending November 9, 2023.

MacKinnon’s Stellar Performance

In three games, MacKinnon led the league with 4 goals and 6 assists for a total of 10 points. His outstanding performance played a critical role in keeping the Avalanche at the top of the league standings with an impressive record of 10 wins, 1 loss, and 5 overtime losses.

  • Nov. 4: Contributed an assist in a 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
  • Nov. 8: Recorded 2 goals and 2 assists in a dominating 9-1 win against the Edmonton Oilers.
  • Nov. 9: Achieved 2 goals and 3 assists in a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory against the Vancouver Canucks.

MacKinnon’s performance highlights a significant milestone; he recorded four points on consecutive days, making him only the second player in Avalanche/Nordiques history to do so. The last player to accomplish this was Marian Stastny in 1982.
