La Voix Shines in Gladiator-Worthy Strictly Performance

The latest episode of Strictly Come Dancing marked a pivotal moment in the competition. Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, the former Olympic sprinter, became the sixth celebrity eliminated. Known as Nitro from Gladiators, he faced the dance-off for the first time, partnered with Karen Hauer. In contrast, drag queen La Voix appeared in her initial dance-off alongside partner Aljaž Škorjanec.

Close Competition and Memorable Performances

The results showcased one of the tightest leaderboards in Strictly history. Only 10 points separated La Voix from the week’s top scorer, Vicky Pattison. This competitive edge heightened the drama, yet there was a sense of inevitability regarding the dance-off pairings.

Score Breakdown and Highlights

  • La Voix scored 29 for her foxtrot.
  • Aikines-Aryeetey’s samba earned him a score of 30.
  • Alex Kingston also scored 30, marking a strong performance following her earlier rounds.
  • Four contestants, including Balvinder Sopal and Amber Davies, achieved their highest scores of the series in this round.

Despite showing great charisma and energy, Aikines-Aryeetey could not keep pace with the other contestants’ improvements. Anton Du Beke, a judge on the show, noted that while Aikines-Aryeetey performed well, the overall competition level had significantly risen.

Future Prospects for Contestants

With their scores from Week 7, many of the remaining contestants, including La Voix and Lewis Cope, are gaining momentum. Vicky Pattison stands out with a remarkable 39 for her tango with partner Kai Widdrington. Pushing through the competition, Widdrington appears determined to win the Glitterball Trophy.

As the competition progresses, the excitement builds. The remaining contestants aim for improvement and glory in upcoming rounds of Strictly Come Dancing.
