Harrison Ford Backs Star Wars Co-Stars at Train Dreams Premiere

At the Los Angeles premiere of “Train Dreams,” Felicity Jones experienced a moment of awe upon meeting fellow “Star Wars” star Harrison Ford. Jones, renowned for her role as Jyn Erso in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” expressed her admiration, stating, “Obviously he’s like the forefather of the whole universe.” She described their encounter as a significant moment, emphasizing the impact Ford had on her approach to her character.

Co-Stars Unite at “Train Dreams” Premiere

Joel Edgerton, Jones’ co-star in “Train Dreams,” also contributed to the excitement of the evening. Edgerton, who portrayed Owen Lars in multiple “Star Wars” projects, invited Ford to the event. The two actors have become friends, especially after Edgerton directed Ford in a commercial for Glenmorangie Scotch Whisky last year. Edgerton remarked, “He’s a good enough friend to want to support the film and hang out.”

Details of “Train Dreams”

Directed by Clint Bentley, “Train Dreams” is adapted from Denis Johnson’s novella. The story follows a logger and railroad man, played by Edgerton, in the early 20th century as he navigates life, love, and mortality. Jones portrays Edgerton’s character’s wife, highlighting the emotional depth of the film.

Harrison Ford’s Connection to Nature

Edgerton shared insights into Ford’s lifestyle, noting his connection to the wilderness in Wyoming. He described Ford as a “working man,” referencing Ford’s past as a carpenter. Edgerton added a personal anecdote about a house he nearly purchased, which Ford had built. “When I worked with Harrison, I told him this story, and he goes, ‘Yeah,’ and he told me the address of the house,” Edgerton recalled.

A Star-Studded Event

The premiere also attracted attention from notable figures, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire. The event underscores the film’s significance as it gains traction in awards season, having recently earned two nominations at the Gotham Film Awards for best feature and best adapted screenplay.
