Nuno Updates on Füllkrug and Mavropanos Team Status

West Ham United’s head coach Nuno Espírito Santo has provided a crucial update on two key players, Dinos Mavropanos and Niclas Füllkrug, as they recover from injuries. Both players are working towards readiness ahead of the match against Burnley on Saturday.

Injury Updates for Mavropanos and Füllkrug

Dinos Mavropanos has been sidelined since suffering a leg injury during a match against Brentford on October 20. Meanwhile, striker Niclas Füllkrug has been missing from the last three games due to a muscle problem.

During a recent press conference, Nuno emphasized that both players are making progress. He noted that:

  • Dinos is currently engaging in individualized training.
  • Niclas is participating in group drills, although he has not fully integrated into all training activities.

“Both of them are improving and starting to work at different stages,” Nuno explained. He expressed optimism, suggesting they could return to full training after the upcoming international break.

Upcoming Match and Team Selection Concerns

Aside from the updates on Mavropanos and Füllkrug, Nuno mentioned that he is also addressing several player knocks sustained during last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Newcastle. As a result, he is awaiting clarity on team selection.

“After a football match, there are always knocks and problems that we have to manage throughout the week,” he said. Nuno plans to have a clearer understanding of his squad by Friday.

This careful management of player fitness is crucial as West Ham prepares for their upcoming clash against Burnley. The potential return of Mavropanos and Füllkrug could significantly impact the team’s performance.
