PM Modi Launches 4 New Vande Bharat Trains: Explore the Routes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch four new Vande Bharat Express trains during his upcoming two-day visit to Varanasi. This visit begins on Friday and highlights significant developments in India’s rail connectivity.

New Vande Bharat Express Routes

The four new routes being inaugurated are:

  • Banaras-Khajuraho
  • Lucknow-Saharanpur
  • Firozpur-Delhi
  • Ernakulam-Bengaluru

Travel Time Reduction and Regional Impact

According to statements released by the Press Information Bureau, these trains will substantially cut travel times between major locations, enhancing regional mobility and fostering tourism.

  • Banaras-Khajuraho: This route will save approximately two hours and 40 minutes compared to current special train services. It connects significant cultural landmarks, including Varanasi and Khajuraho, promoting religious tourism.
  • Lucknow-Saharanpur: Travelers will complete this route in about seven hours and 45 minutes, which is nearly one hour faster than existing options. This train also improves access to Haridwar via Roorkee.
  • Firozpur-Delhi: This service will be the fastest on its route, taking just six hours and 40 minutes. It aims to enhance connectivity between Delhi and key cities in Punjab.
  • Ernakulam-Bengaluru: This train shortens travel time by over two hours, completing the journey in eight hours and 40 minutes. It links major business hubs, benefiting professionals, students, and tourists.

Preparations for the Inauguration

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been actively overseeing preparations at the Varanasi railway station. He received updates from railway and district officials focusing on beautification, security, and passenger facilities. Adityanath emphasized the importance of a seamless event execution with robust security measures and cleanliness at the station.

Cultural Significance of the Visit

On the morning of the visit, Chief Minister Adityanath paid respects at prominent temples in Varanasi. He participated in rituals at the Baba Kal Bhairav temple and the Kashi Vishwanath temple. The ceremonies included traditional prayers that reverberated through the temple grounds, encapsulating the spiritual essence of the region.
