Spirit Airlines to Halt Milwaukee Services in January 2026

Spirit Airlines has officially announced its plan to cease operations at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport starting January 8, 2026.

Details of Service Discontinuation

The announcement was made in a statement from Spirit Airlines, outlining the airline’s strategic decisions for 2026. The adjustments are part of Spirit’s initiative to optimize its fleet and concentrate on its most profitable markets.

Impacted Locations

Along with Milwaukee (MKE), Spirit will also discontinue services at the following airports:

  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
  • Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC)
  • St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL)

Additionally, seasonal service to Bucaramanga, Colombia (BGA) will be halted from January 13, 2026.

Spirit Airlines expressed its regret for any inconvenience these changes may cause to travelers. The airline stated that it will reach out to affected passengers to inform them of their options, including full refunds for canceled travel plans.
