Tesla’s 2026 Model Y from Giga Berlin Launches in Canada

Tesla is significantly advancing its operations by launching the 2026 Model Y “Juniper” refresh in Canada. Recently, the Coquitlam Service Center has reached full capacity with newly arrived units imported from Gigafactory Berlin. Photos circulating on social media reflect the rear lot filled with numerous brand-new Model Ys, indicating that the distribution of the updated electric SUV is actively progressing across the nation.
Delivery Milestones from Giga Berlin
This development marks an important phase in Tesla’s strategy for deploying Giga Berlin-built Model Ys in Canada. Following the initial shipment from Germany, which took place in September, the company started delivering new vehicles to Canadian customers in late October. More deliveries are anticipated in the upcoming weeks as demand continues to rise.
Strategic Import Decisions
Tesla’s choice to import Model Ys from Giga Berlin rather than from Giga Texas or Giga Shanghai is a calculated move. This strategy allows Tesla to avoid steep import tariffs: 100% on Chinese-made electric vehicles and 25% on those manufactured in the U.S. As a result, prices remain competitive in the Canadian market.
Price Adjustments
- The Model Y Long Range AWD had its price slashed by $20,000 CAD to $64,990.
 - This adjustment brings the price back under previous tariff levels.
 - The new Model Y Standard RWD trim, recently launched in Europe and the U.S., may soon arrive in Canada as Giga Berlin increases production.

The abundance of 2026 Juniper Model Ys in Coquitlam underscores Tesla’s commitment to accelerating the delivery of European-made vehicles to Canadian customers. The company is well-positioned for a sustained delivery initiative throughout the year as consumer interest remains strong.
