Karyo achieved international fame with his role as a hunter in the 1988 film “L’Ours,” directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud. This film solidified his reputation as a talented actor. Later, he starred as a mentor to Anne Parillaud in “Nikita,” released in 1990, directed by Luc Besson.
