Gorilla Venus Delights in Halloween Pumpkin Fun

A young gorilla at London Zoo is kicking off the Halloween season with some festive pumpkin fun. Venus, aged one year and eight months, indulged in carved pumpkins filled with pulses.
Halloween Treats for Venus the Gorilla
The celebrations included other western lowland gorillas sharing in the festivities. Although silverback gorilla Kiburi was the first to reach the treats, baby Venus displayed her adventurous spirit and eagerly enjoyed the carved pumpkins. Her mother, Effie, kept a watchful eye during the tasty event.
Zoo’s Commitment to Animal Enrichment
Daniel Simmonds, the zoological operations manager at London Zoo, emphasized the importance of including special experiences for the animals. He stated, “We wanted to make sure the animals didn’t miss out on the fun.”
