Justice Department to Monitor California, New Jersey Polling Sites

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced plans to monitor polling sites in six key jurisdictions in California and New Jersey for the upcoming general election on November 4, 2025. This initiative aims to uphold transparency, ensure ballot security, and guarantee compliance with federal voting regulations.
Monitoring for Election Integrity
The DOJ’s Civil Rights Division will lead this monitoring effort. This division is responsible for enforcing federal voting rights laws that safeguard every eligible citizen’s access to the ballot. Attorney General Pamela Bondi emphasized the significance of transparency in elections, stating, “Transparency at the polls translates into faith in the electoral process.”
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon reiterated the department’s commitment, saying, “The Department of Justice will do everything necessary to protect the votes of eligible American citizens.” The focus is on maintaining safe and secure elections while fostering public trust.
