Vanessa Williams Shares Opinion on Desperate Housewives Revival

Vanessa Williams recently shared her thoughts on the upcoming reboot of Desperate Housewives, expressing some hesitance about the project. Williams, who played Renee Perry in the show’s final two seasons, noted the significant changes in the series direction.
Desperate Housewives Reboot: Wisteria Lane
The reimagining, titled Wisteria Lane, is being crafted by Natalie Chaidez. This new version is described as a “fun, sexy, darkly comedic soap/mystery” reminiscent of the original Desperate Housewives. According to Deadline, the new storyline presents neighbors living idealized lives, with beautiful homes and picture-perfect families. However, the narrative will delve into the secrets hidden behind the facade of their seemingly perfect lives.
Williams’ Curiosity
During the Variety Club Showbusiness Awards, Williams shared her curiosity about this new chapter of Wisteria Lane. She referenced Marc Cherry, the original creator and writer of Desperate Housewives. “I would be curious to see if he’s involved,” Williams stated. She emphasized the importance of Cherry’s unique vision, indicating that the essence of the reboot will depend on his participation.
Acknowledgment of Achievements
At the same awards ceremony, Williams received the Variety Silver Heart Award for her Outstanding Global Contribution to the Arts and Humanity. Currently, she is performing in The Devil Wears Prada on the West End, while enjoying her time living in London.
Life in London
Williams expressed her appreciation for her life in London over the past two years. She mentioned how she has enjoyed taking friends and family around the city and participating in various unique experiences, such as cooking with James Martin and exploring his car collection.
