Coca-Cola Recalls Popular Sodas Over Contamination Risk: Check Affected Products

In a recent announcement, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed a recall involving several Coca-Cola products due to the potential risk of metal contamination. The recall affects three popular sodas: Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Coca-Cola, and Sprite.

Coca-Cola Recall Details

Launched on October 3 by Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, the recall has been classified as a Class II recall. This classification suggests that the affected products may cause temporary or medically reversible health consequences, though the likelihood of serious adverse effects is considered remote.

Distribution and Coverage

Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, which is part of Arca Continental, oversees beverage distribution in Texas and some regions in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas. However, as of October 22, only products distributed within Texas are subject to this recall.

At the time of reporting, the FDA did not provide specific instructions regarding the handling of the recalled products. Additionally, there has been no immediate comment from Coca-Cola or its bottling partner following the inquiry made by USA TODAY on October 22.
