Chelsea Secures Sleeve Sponsorship Deal with Vietnam’s FPT Technology

Chelsea Football Club has finalized a new shirt sleeve sponsorship deal with FPT Corporation, a leading technology solutions provider based in Vietnam. This agreement will last through the 2025-26 season and marks a significant upgrade in the partnership between FPT and Chelsea, which began in April when FPT became an official global partner.

Chelsea’s New Sponsorship Agreement

The deal, negotiated by Chelsea’s president and chief operating officer Jason Gannon along with commercial president Todd Kline, aligns with the sponsorship values of other top clubs in the Premier League. The FPT logo will appear on the sleeves of Chelsea’s men’s, women’s, and academy teams.

First Appearance in Champions League

The FPT branding will debut during Chelsea’s upcoming Champions League match against Ajax. Prior to securing FPT as their sleeve partner, Chelsea had entered the season without one. Last season, they had a partnership with Live Nation, which concluded after the FIFA Club World Cup Final in July.

Growing Sponsorship Interest

  • The club’s strong performance in the 2024-25 season has attracted more competition for sponsorships.
  • Chelsea secured a fourth-place finish in the Premier League and won the Conference League.
  • They also became the first team to win the Club World Cup, defeating Paris Saint-Germain.

These successes have prompted many businesses to vie for sleeve sponsorship opportunities, with expectations for more submissions next season.

Future Front-of-Shirt Sponsorship

Chelsea is also nearing a conclusion regarding a new front-of-shirt sponsor. Discussions led by Gannon and Kline are reportedly advanced, with a final decision anticipated soon. This partnership is expected to extend beyond mere brand visibility on the shirt, offering broader collaboration opportunities.

Since acquiring Chelsea in 2020, the Todd Boehly-Clearlake consortium has sought to establish lucrative sponsorships. Previous agreements, such as the one with mobile company Three, ended after the 2022-23 season.

Recent Sponsorship Developments

  • In September 2023, Infinite Athlete signed a deal worth over £40 million for the current season.
  • Damac, a Dubai-based property company, became a temporary sponsor for the 2024-25 season in April.

Months of negotiations have focused on finding the right global partner rather than hurrying the process. Chelsea’s rising profile has made it an attractive option for potential sponsors, enhancing their negotiating power.
