Doug McMillon, the President and CEO of Walmart Inc., announced that traditional eCommerce elements are changing. He emphasized a shift from simple search functions to a more engaging shopping experience that is “multi-media, personalized, and contextual.”

Direct Purchases via ChatGPT

In the upcoming months, customers will be able to purchase Walmart products directly through ChatGPT. This feature will not include fresh food items, but will support a wide range of other products. The new Instant Checkout feature allows consumers to make purchases seamlessly through the AI service.

Availability for Sam’s Club Members

Members of Sam’s Club, a Walmart-owned warehouse club, will also benefit from this innovative shopping option. However, Walmart has yet to announce a specific launch date for this feature.
