Philadelphia Confirms Remains of Missing Woman Kada Scott Found

The Philadelphia authorities confirmed that the remains discovered in a wooded area behind an abandoned school belong to Kada Scott, a 23-year-old woman who had been missing for two weeks. Her remains were recovered following an anonymous tip that led police to a specific location previously searched. DNA testing confirmed her identity.

Investigation Progresses in the Case of Kada Scott

Keon King, a 21-year-old resident of Dover, Delaware, has been arrested in connection with Scott’s disappearance. He faces multiple charges, including kidnapping and stalking, and is currently held on a $2.5 million bail. Prosecutors indicate that further charges may be forthcoming.

Evidence and Charges Against Keon King

District Attorney Larry Krasner expressed confidence that homicide charges could soon be filed against King, emphasizing the need to adhere to legal protocols. Prosecutor Ashley Toczylowski presented critical evidence including:

  • Cellphone communication between King and Scott.
  • Extensive video footage linking King to the events surrounding her disappearance.
  • A stolen vehicle, a black Hyundai Accent, reported missing just before Scott’s disappearance on October 4.

The Hyundai was spotted on video near a recreation center close to where Scott’s body was discovered. Three days post-disappearance, the vehicle was found on fire in Philadelphia, but was compacted at a junkyard before it could be thoroughly examined.

Further Implications and Ongoing Investigations

Authorities believe additional individuals may have been involved in the incident. Toczylowski noted that a recent, more directed tip prompted investigators to search the area once again, leading to the recovery of Scott’s remains. Investigations into the fire linked to the stolen vehicle are ongoing, and new charges related to arson and conspiracy are being considered against King.

Remembrance of Kada Scott

Kada Scott’s family released a heartfelt statement following the confirmation of her identity, describing her as a source of “light, kindness, and beautiful spirit.” They expressed their deep sorrow and called for prayers during this difficult time.

Scott, who was employed at an assisted living facility, was last seen after completing her overnight shift. The community mourns her loss, while authorities continue to pursue justice in her case.
