Maura Higgins, the former star of Love Island, has announced her departure from reality television. Shortly after the premiere of her new film The Spin, Higgins revealed she has declined several prominent TV offers, marking a significant shift in her career.

At 34 years old, Maura has made it clear that she has accomplished everything she aimed for in reality TV. In an exclusive interview with El-Balad, she stated, “I’ve done all the ones I’ve wanted.”

Maura disclosed that she has turned down invitations to participate in several high-profile shows, including:

- Celebs Go Dating
- MasterChef
- Strictly Come Dancing
Regarding Strictly, a show she mentioned receiving a call about, she humorously added, “It’s not on my manifest board. I’ve never danced, so I don’t know if I’d pick up the steps.”
New Ventures in Acting
Maura is shifting her focus to acting, particularly in her recent role in The Spin, where she portrays a character named Rose. The film, directed by Michael Head, is currently showing in cinemas and was filmed in Ireland, a location she was keen to work in for her debut.
The Acting Experience
Although this is her first time acting, Maura acknowledges the challenges of stepping into another character. She expressed, “I genuinely didn’t know what I was doing.” Despite her nerves, she has enjoyed the experience and the support she received on set. “Everyone on set was really lovely,” she noted.
