Nuno Updates Squad Ahead of Brentford Match

Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo has updated the squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League match against Brentford. The match is scheduled for Monday night at the London Stadium.

Latest Fitness Updates

Nuno provided insights into the fitness of two players: Niclas Füllkrug and George Earthy. Füllkrug, a German international, has played seven matches across all competitions this season. He began both of Nuno’s first two games against Everton and Arsenal. Unfortunately, he sustained an injury during the recent trip to the Emirates and is awaiting scan results.

Injury Status

  • Niclas Füllkrug: Awaiting scan results after picking up an injury.
  • George Earthy: Continues to recover from a hamstring injury and remains sidelined.

During the pre-match press conference, Nuno expressed hope for Füllkrug’s swift return, stating, “We’re waiting for the results. After that, we’ll be able to say exactly how long he’s going to be out.” He confirmed that Earthy is still unavailable but reassured that the rest of the squad is fit, including players returning from international duty.

Player Availability

Among the players who recently returned from international assignments, Tomáš Souček is eligible for the match against Brentford. He has completed a three-match suspension following a red card received against Tottenham Hotspur in September.

Squad Outlook

The team is generally in good condition, with the exception of the injuries to Füllkrug and Earthy. With Souček back, Nuno has strengthened options for the key clash against Brentford.
