Hydro-Québec Outage Leaves Nearly 10,000 Homes Without Power

In a recent event, almost 10,000 customers experienced power outages in the province due to strong winds. This disruption occurred from Sunday night into Monday morning, impacting various regions.

Power Outages Across Hydro-Québec Regions

According to Hydro-Québec, the outages reached a peak number of approximately 9,926 homes without electricity at around 2 AM. The areas most affected included:

  • Outaouais: Over 3,100 homes lost power.
  • Montérégie: More than 2,650 families were impacted.
  • Mauricie: Approximately 1,900 households faced outages.
  • Estrie: More than 1,000 homes remained without power.
  • Montreal: Over 800 families were similarly affected.

Several other regions, including the Laurentians, Lanaudière, Laval, and Centre-du-Québec, also reported outages, affecting numerous households.

Response Efforts by Hydro-Québec

Hydro-Québec crews were actively working to restore power and reconnect families left in the dark. Despite the challenging weather conditions, efforts were underway to resolve the outages as quickly as possible.
