A tragic fire in Indore city, Madhya Pradesh, has left one 11-year-old boy dead and five family members injured. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, October 18, 2025, at around 2:15 a.m.

According to police reports, the fire began due to a short circuit at a three-storey residence owned by a scrap dealer. Anil Gupta, the station house officer of Juni Indore police station, confirmed that the house contained large amounts of scrap material, including foam and sponge.

Rapid Spread of Flames

The stored foam and sponge significantly contributed to the rapid spread of the flames. The fire quickly engulfed the entire building, producing thick black smoke that filled the premises. The narrow layout of the house posed a challenge, as it had only one entrance with no proper outlet for the smoke.

Victims and Rescue Efforts

  • One 11-year-old boy died from suffocation.
  • Five family members, including a couple, their two daughters, and a son, suffered injuries.
  • Four of the injured are currently on life support in the hospital.
