Raila Odinga, the former Prime Minister of Kenya, passed away on October 15, 2025, at an Ayurvedic hospital in Kerala. He was 80 years old. His death occurred around 9 a.m. following a cardiac failure during his morning walk.

Odinga had been receiving treatment at the Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research Centre in Koothattukulam for five days prior to his death. He was accompanied by his daughter and personal doctor at the time.

The hospital stated that his body would be embalmed. Further arrangements will follow instructions from Kenya’s Ministry of External Affairs and the Embassy in New Delhi.
