Explore NC State Fair 2025: Tickets, Rides, Food, Parking, and Events

The 2025 NC State Fair is set to commence on Thursday, October 16, and will run until Sunday, October 26. This year’s event promises 11 days packed with entertainment, food, and rides. The fair will introduce numerous attractions, including an impressive array of 88 new food options and thrilling rides such as the Colossus and Kamikaze.

Event Details and Ticket Information

Visitors can purchase tickets for the fair online. Two new packages are being offered this year, including the Bright Lights and Boots Package. This package comprises an adult admission ticket and a ticket to the newly introduced rodeo event.

Daily Schedule

  • Thursday, Oct. 16: Noon – 11 p.m.
  • Friday & Saturday, Oct. 17 – 18: 9 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
  • Sunday – Thursday, Oct. 19 – 23: 9 a.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Friday & Saturday, Oct. 24 – 25: 9 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 26: 9 a.m. – 11 p.m.

Remember, attendees must enter the fairgrounds by 9:45 p.m. as there will be no reentry after this time.

Discounts and Promotions

  • Military Discount: Active military members and veterans pay $8 for daily admission. They may also bring a guest at the same discounted rate.
  • Weekday Lunch Pass: Adult visitors can enter for free on weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. by purchasing a $20 lunch card.

New Attractions and Entertainment

This year, fairgoers will experience a variety of new performances, including a Wild West roping show and a live interactive fortune experience called the Conjurer Fortune Machine. The popular Powers Great American Midway will feature rides like Colossus and The Flip Side, ensuring thrill for all visitors.

Transportation and Parking

Free parking is accessible at the State Fairgrounds and the Carter-Finley Football Stadium. Additional parking options are available at the Dogwood Lot and Cardinal Lot, with free shuttle services running continuously from these locations.

AMTRAK will also provide a special train stop at Gate 1, facilitating easier access to the fair.

Clear Bag Policy

All attendees should be aware of the clear bag policy. Guests with clear bags will experience quicker entry. Outside food and drink, as well as necessary medical supplies, are permitted.

Special Event Days

  • Wolfpack Day (Oct. 17): NC State students can enjoy a discounted ticket by presenting their student ID.
  • Sensory Day (Oct. 19): A quieter fair experience with reduced lights and music, suitable for visitors seeking a sensory-friendly environment.
  • Senior Citizens’ Day (Oct. 21): Free admission for guests aged 65 and older, along with special refreshments and activities.
  • Duke Energy Military Appreciation Day (Oct. 23): A parade honoring military members will take place at 10 a.m.
  • Smithfield Foods Hunger Relief Day (Oct. 23): Guests can enter for free by donating six cans of food.
