The Eversource Hartford Marathon is set to take place this Saturday, drawing nearly 10,000 participants. The event will commence near the State Capitol and conclude at Bushnell Park, offering various races for participants of all ages and abilities.
Registration and Packet Pickup Information
As of Wednesday, all race categories are full, and registration has officially closed. This includes the marathon, half marathon, team 26.2 relay, and charity 5K. Note that there will be no race-day packet pickup, so participants must collect their bibs and t-shirts in advance.

Race Start Times
The races will kick off on Capitol Avenue with the following schedule:
- 7:55 a.m.: Wheelchair athletes in the marathon and half marathon
- 8:00 a.m.: Marathon, half marathon, and team 26.2 relay
- 8:01 a.m.: Charity 5K on Capitol Avenue east of Bushnell Theater, between Clinton and West streets
- 9:30 a.m.: Kids Fun Run at Elm and West streets
Broadcast and Coverage
Channel 3 will feature a live finish line camera, streaming from 7:30 a.m. to noon. This coverage will be available on both WWAX and WFSB+, providing real-time updates for viewers as participants cross the finish line.
Road Closures and Parking
For those traveling to the event, several road and exit ramp closures will be in effect:
- Roads in Hartford, West Hartford, East Hartford, and South Windsor will close from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- No parking will be allowed on streets in these areas during this timeframe.
- Highway exits on I-84, I-91, and westbound Route 2 will also be closed.
Participants should plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays.
Post-Race Festivities
Following the races, participants and spectators can enjoy festivities at Bushnell Park. The celebration will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature:
- Vendors and food stalls
- A beer garden open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., serving brews from Urban Lodge Brewing
- Live music on the “Powerstation Events Bushnell Park” stage
Participants aged 21 and over can enjoy one complimentary beer, but a photo ID is necessary for verification.
