According to reports from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the driver was operating an older grey Dodge Ram. The vehicle was heading northbound when it veered onto the soft shoulder and subsequently rolled off the road.

- The driver, an 18-year-old male from Vernon, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
- Two passengers were involved: a 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman, also from Vernon.
