An 18-year-old resident from Vernon tragically lost his life in a rollover accident on Westside Road on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. near the intersection of Westside Road and Lawrence Lane.

According to reports from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the driver was operating an older grey Dodge Ram. The vehicle was heading northbound when it veered onto the soft shoulder and subsequently rolled off the road.

Casualties

  • The driver, an 18-year-old male from Vernon, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
  • Two passengers were involved: a 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman, also from Vernon.
  • Both passengers suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital by BC Emergency Health Services.
