West Ham United Releases Fabianski and Traore Following Relegation
West Ham United has announced the departure of goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski and winger Adama Traore at the end of the season. Both players will leave the club on free transfers following their relegation from the Premier League.
Player Retirements and Relegation Impact
Lukasz Fabianski, 41 years old, joined West Ham in 2018. Over his five seasons with the team, he made 216 appearances and played a crucial role in the club’s success. He was part of the squad that secured the UEFA Europa Conference League title in 2023.
Adama Traore, 30, joined West Ham from Fulham in January. He had a short stint with the Hammers, making only 12 appearances this season. Neither player has been extended a contract after the club’s disappointing performance, which resulted in relegation.
Additional Player Departures
In addition to Fabianski and Traore, several development squad players have also been released. The following individuals will leave the club:
- Michael Forbes
- Junior Robinson
- Tyron Akpata
- Daniel Rigge
- David Chigwada
- Tom Wooster
Academy scholar Jonathan Unwin is another player set to depart. These changes mark a significant transition period for West Ham United as they prepare for the challenges ahead after relegation.
