Sinfield Unveils Route for Epic 7 in 7 Challenge Finale

Kevin Sinfield CBE has announced the details of his final fundraising challenge, titled “7 in 7: The Grand Finale.” This initiative aims to raise awareness and funds for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) community across the UK and Ireland.

Overview of the Challenge

Starting on Sunday, September 28, Sinfield, alongside his team, will complete an ultra marathon each day for seven consecutive days. The challenge will begin at Sewell Group Craven Park, home of Hull KR, and will feature visits to all 12 English Betfred Super League club grounds. The finale will occur at Old Trafford prior to the Betfred Super League Grand Final.

Daily Route Breakdown

  • Day 1: September 28 – Begins at Hull KR, traveling to MKM Stadium (Hull FC) and concluding at Shiptonthorpe.
  • Day 2: September 29 – Sets off from Shiptonthorpe to Bishopthorpe Palace, with stops at the University of York and LNER Community Stadium.
  • Day 3: September 30 – Travels from Bishopthorpe to Wakefield, stopping at Pontefract and concluding at Wakefield Trinity’s stadium.
  • Day 4: October 1 – Departs from Wakefield, passing through Oldham to Peninsula Stadium in Salford.
  • Day 5: October 2 – Moves from Salford to St Helens, visiting Leigh Leopards and Wigan Warriors en route.
  • Final Day: October 3 – Starts at Brewdog Stadium, heads to Halliwell Jones Stadium, and finishes at Old Trafford.

Significance and Impact

Since its inception in 2020, Sinfield’s annual challenges have raised over £11 million for the MND community. This year, six charities will benefit from the funds raised, including the MND Association and the My Name5 Doddie Foundation.

Community Involvement

In addition to the daily ultra marathons, Extra Mile events will allow members of the MND community to join Sinfield for a mile each day. This initiative emphasizes community support and solidarity.

Supporters can donate through the dedicated fundraising page. Additionally, Sinfield and his team will wear special designs representing each Super League club throughout the challenge, culminating in a neutral design for the Grand Final.
