Blue Jays Promote RHP Chad Dallas, Demote Hayden Juenger to Triple-A

The Toronto Blue Jays have announced key changes to their pitching roster as they prepare for upcoming games. Rookie right-hander Chad Dallas will be joining the major-league team, poised to make his debut against the Atlanta Braves. This game is scheduled for Thursday and will be aired on Sportsnet ONE at 7:15 p.m. ET.
Chad Dallas Promoted to Major League
Chad Dallas, 25 years old, has earned his place on the major-league roster after spending the past few seasons in the Blue Jays’ minor-league system. He was drafted by the Blue Jays in the fourth round of the 2021 MLB Draft. In 2023, Dallas has made 10 appearances, with eight of them as a starter, at Triple-A Buffalo, achieving a 4.50 ERA and striking out 38 batters over 36 innings.
Corresponding Roster Moves
- Hayden Juenger, who made his major-league debut on May 31 against the Baltimore Orioles, has been demoted to Triple-A Buffalo.
- Juenger’s performance includes giving up three runs in his debut and pitching a scoreless inning on Wednesday against the Braves.
- Prior to his call-up, Juenger held a 3.15 ERA in 17 appearances at Triple-A in 2023.
- Tanner Andrews, another right-hander, was designated for assignment after making two appearances in late May.
Upcoming Changes to the Roster
The Blue Jays are facing challenges in their pitching rotation due to injuries among several starters. To address this, the team will welcome right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson on Friday. Details of another roster move will be finalized upon his activation.
As the team navigates these changes, the addition of Chad Dallas is seen as a promising development for the Blue Jays’ pitching staff.
