Oscar Piastri Amazed by Isle of Man TT Riders on First Visit with Mark Webber

Oscar Piastri, the McLaren Formula 1 driver, recently experienced the famed Isle of Man TT for the first time. Accompanied by his manager and ex-F1 driver Mark Webber, he attended the motorcycle racing event after finishing 11th at the Canadian Grand Prix. Piastri expressed his awe at the riders, calling them “nuts.”
First Impressions at the Isle of Man TT
Piastri watched the races as a guest of Monster Energy, enjoying the action from a fan’s garden at the bottom of Bray Hill. In a social media update, he stated, “We’re at someone’s house. We’re going through someone’s garden; apparently, this is the spot to watch. I don’t know what I was expecting, but this wasn’t it.”
His excitement was palpable: “These guys are nuts,” he added, highlighting the thrilling nature of the event.
Mark Webber’s Experience
Mark Webber shared his thoughts on social media, noting, “Always a privilege taking people for their first time to the @ttracesofficial. Never fails to impress them the display of sheer courage.”
Piastri’s F1 Season Overview
This visit came after a challenging start to the 2026 F1 season for Piastri. During the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, he lost control of his car early in the race preparation. Adding to the struggles, both Piastri and his teammate Lando Norris were unable to compete in the subsequent Chinese Grand Prix due to an electrical failure.
However, the season improved with Piastri finishing in second place at the Japanese Grand Prix and third at the Miami Grand Prix after a five-week break. He currently holds sixth place in the drivers’ standings with 48 points following his latest finish in Canada.
