Elena Rybakina, currently ranked World No. 2 and the reigning Australian Open champion, is set to participate in the 2026 HSBC Championships. This prestigious WTA 500 tournament will be held from June 6 to June 14, showcasing an impressive roster of players.
Star-Studded Line-up
The HSBC Championships will feature four of the top ten players in the world. In addition to Rybakina, the anticipated participants include:
- Jessica Pegula
- Amanda Anisimova
- Victoria Mboko
- Emma Raducanu (British No. 1)
- Belinda Bencic (Olympic gold medallist)
- Marta Kostyuk (Madrid Open champion)
- Iva Jovic (rising star)
Replacement and Recent Achievements
Rybakina has secured a Top 30 replacement spot due to Linda Noskova’s withdrawal. This season has been remarkable for the Kazakh tennis player. She began with her second Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in January and added a WTA 500 title from Stuttgart to her accolades.
Rybakina also reached the finals at Indian Wells earlier this year. Her strong serve and powerful groundstrokes have established her as a leading player on grass courts, evidenced by her Wimbledon title in 2022, where she defeated Ons Jabeur in the final. She also reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2024.
Previous HSBC Championships Participation
Last year, Rybakina competed in the HSBC Championships and reached the quarter-finals as the fourth seed. She was eliminated by Tatjana Maria, who eventually claimed the championship title.
