The 74-year-old former England manager was hospitalized due to ongoing abdominal symptoms that led to his diagnosis. Recently, he spoke about his health at ‘An Audience with Kevin Keegan’ event held at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House. This marked his first public discussion regarding his condition.

He stated, “They said we have a top doctor with this new way of fighting what you have got, which is stage four cancer.” Keegan expressed confidence in his healthcare team, mentioning the doctor was a Liverpool supporter, which made him feel reassured.

Looking ahead, Keegan plans to return to St James’ Park next season. He expressed his desire to say a proper goodbye to the club he holds dear. “I want to say goodbye. I didn’t get the chance when I left the club last time,” he added.
