Westbank Residents Urged to Provide Feedback on Future Development

The City of West Kelowna is actively seeking community input on the future development of the Westbank Urban Centre. Residents are encouraged to share their thoughts through a public survey available at OurWK.ca/westbankcentre, with a feedback deadline set for June 17.
Community Engagement on Westbank Development
It has been over 15 years since the Westbank Centre Revitalization Plan was first adopted. Significant improvements have occurred since 2011, including:
- Upgrades to Memorial Park
- Enhancements to Spring Park
- Introduction of a transit exchange
- Construction of a new city hall
The new development plan aims to solidify Westbank as the central hub of West Kelowna. It will address transportation and mobility challenges while adhering to best practices and current market trends. The plan will also align with the Official Community Plan.
Focus Areas of the New Plan
Upcoming phases of the Westbank Urban Centre plan will prioritize:
- New development opportunities
- Improved connections across the area
- Creating a more active and walkable downtown environment
City officials, alongside a consulting team, are currently engaging with public stakeholders. A draft of this new plan is anticipated to be released this summer. The final proposal is expected to be presented to the West Kelowna city council in the fall.
