One Dead in Montreal Residential Area Collision

A dramatic collision in a residential area of Montreal resulted in the death of a 49-year-old man. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning at approximately 6 AM at the intersection of Hochelaga and Bossuet streets in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.

Details of the Incident

The deceased was involved in a high-speed chase after stealing a vehicle just moments before the crash. He was driving recklessly along Bossuet Street, where the speed limit is set at 30 km/h. Witnesses reported that he failed to stop at the intersection, crashing into a passing van.

  • This impact sent the stolen car crashing into a nearby residential building, causing minor damage.
