Kellie Loder was recognized as the Songwriter of the Year for the second consecutive time. This notable achievement followed her first win in 2023. Loder expressed her feelings about the award, stating that it felt “kind of bewildering” yet less nerve-wracking than her first win. She noted that the initial shock of winning had transformed into a sense of deserved recognition.

A Tribute to John Hutton

The late John Hutton was celebrated posthumously at the ECMAs, receiving the Stompin’ Tom Award. This honor acknowledges those who have significantly contributed to the east coast music industry. Hutton, a cornerstone of Newfoundland and Labrador’s music scene, passed away earlier this month. His legacy persists as a mentor and friend to many in the industry.
