Liverpool Defender Announces Summer Departure

Liverpool defender Rhys Williams has publicized his upcoming exit from the club after an impressive 16-year journey. The 25-year-old academy graduate took to social media to make the announcement, confirming his contract will expire next month.

Rhys Williams’ Journey at Liverpool

Williams joined Liverpool’s academy at just nine years old. He progressed through the ranks and became part of the team that won the FA Youth Cup in 2019, defeating Manchester City.

His senior debut for the club came in September 2020, during a Carabao Cup match against Lincoln City. Under manager Jurgen Klopp, Williams featured prominently that season, playing 18 matches, with 14 of them as a starter. His contributions were significant, particularly during an injury crisis that impacted Liverpool’s defense.
